You’ll stay at our very own Boutique Hotel – Karibu Entebbe

 

Begin this 4-night segment with a trip to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to trek Uganda’s resurgent rhino population on foot en-route to the park. Over the next few days you’ll trek chimpanzees in Budongo Forest, hike the falls, take three different boat safaris and as many safaris as you wish in your private safari 4×4.

Spend 4 nights on the banks of The Nile at Murchison River Lodge

Drive to Kibale Forest via the scenic Albertine Rift escarpment down the west of Uganda. The next day you’ ll not trek chimps with the other tourists, but take a full-day “habituation” experience. This lets you not only have more time with the Chimpanzees, but gain a deeper insight into their fascinating daily lives from the rangers and researchers whom will escort you into the forest.

You’ll spend two nights in the rainforest, in your own Forest Cottage at Primate Lodge

 

Over these three days you’ll experience the magic of a cruise on the Kazinga Channel, a third chimpanzee experience in the jungle swathe of Kyambura Gorge and multiple safaris in your vehicle on the open Kasneyi plains and the wild spaces of Ishasha, famous for sightings of tree-climbing lions.

Stay in a Deluxe Tent at Mweya Lodge  (1 night) then  Ishasha Wilderness Camp (2 nights).

 

In these 4 days you’ll first head to Buhoma in the northern part of the forest. Spend a day trekking a gorilla family on this side of the forest before traversing the forest on a full-day hike following a trail originally used by the pygmy population to trade. This is a 4-6 hour walk and you can choose a “short” or a “longer” route. You’ll then spend 2 nights in Nkuringo on the southern side of the forest overlooking the Virunga Volcano chain that spans Uganda, Rwanda and DRC Congo. Here you’ll make your second gorilla trek.

Stay at the original homestead on the northern side of Bwindi, Buhoma Lodge (2 nights) followed by Nkuringo Lodge (2 nights) on the southern side.

 

You’ll take a morning flight back to Entebbe then transfer to Jinja, the Source of The Nile. You’ll spend the next 3 nights at the special and unique Wild Waters lodge, built on an island in The Nile Surrounded by rapids.

You can spend these days either relaxing and watching the endless surge of water go by, or partake in a number of adventure sports for which Jinja is famous such as: White Water Rafting, Horseback Safaris, Quad Biking, Fishing or Bungee Jumping.

 

Take it easy on your last morning in Jinja and take the afternoon to return to Entebbe. Spend one last night on the shores of Lake Victoria before your flight out tomorrow.

Depending on flight timings we can arrange a morning excursion on the last day to search out the shoebill stork by boat in the nearby Mbamba Swamp
